The Objects

° The waymarkers along the Rehberger-Weg 

«24 Stops» by Tobias Rehberger marked a path between the two destinations of the Vitra Campus and the Fondation Beyeler, the two municipalities of Riehen and Weil am Rhein and the two countries of Switzerland and Germany. 

The first 12 waymarkers were installed in September 2015. From June 2016, «24 Stops» could be enjoyed with all 24 waymarkers in place. The ten-year project came to an end on 31 October 2025. 

The objects were not only way markers, but also had their own individual function. They could be used, they could fire the imagination and they could tell stories. The unusual colouring and idiom of their forms and materials were characteristic of Tobias Rehberger's work. Their specific, at times slightly absurd, language of colours and forms evoked images and narratives.
