Guided walks 2021

Discover the «24 Stops» along the Rehberger-Weg on one of our guided walks in German and find out more about the artist, the individual objects and the landscape in which they are set. 

Start: 2pm, alternately from the Fondation Beyeler or Vitra Campus

Duration: 2 hours

Price: CHF 12.- / EUR 10.- per person

The price includes a shuttle bus back to the starting point.

The walks take place whatever the weather. Advance registration is required. During the walks the national border is crossed. Please carry an identity card and wear sturdy shoes.

Expert tours 2021

To discover more about the landscape surrounding the Rehberger-Weg, we offer expert-led tours on a variety of themes. Please note that these tours are held in German

Start: 4pm, departing from Vitra Campus
Duration: 2 hours
Price: EUR 10.- per person

The fee must be paid to the guide before the tour starts. The walks take place in all weathers. Advance registration is required. Sturdy shoes are a must.


Sunday 2 May "Reben" ('Viticulture') with Susi Engler, starting from the Vitra Campus (cancelled)

This tour will take us along Rehberger-Weg and through the vineyards on Tüllinger mountain. During the tour, Halting-based Susi Engler will talk about winemaking in the region, detailing how this work varies from season to season. A winemaker on Tüllinger mountain since 1993, she will also explain how the winemaking profession has changed over the years. How was wine grown in years gone by? What does the job entail today? And what will it entail in the future?

The walk will come to an end back at the starting point.


Sunday, 20 September "Geschichte" ('History') with Sabine Theil, starting from the Vitra Campus 

We will set out together along Rehberger-Weg, passing gardens, fruit fields and meadow orchards, and traversing the enchanting vineyard landscape on Tüllinger Berg and, in parts, the historical old village of Weil. Not only will you enjoy magnificent views of Basel, the Jura region, the Vosges mountains and Weil am Rhein, but also gain fascinating insights into the area. After all, your «24 Stops» tour is packed with anecdotes and history about Weil am Rhein and its surroundings.

The tour includes a shuttle journey back to the starting point. Because the tour will take you across national borders, we ask you to carry identification documents with you.


Guided walk with wine-tasting

Sunday, 9 May, 4 pm - Guided walk and wine-tasting session with Susi Engler (cancelled)

This tour along Rehberger-Weg and through the surrounding vineyards, will provide you with fascinating facts on the milestones to be found along the hiking trail (the Rehberger-Wegmarken), the history of viticulture in the region, the local wine and winemaking profession, and the Schlipf area on Tüllinger Mountain. You will of course also be treated to wonderful views as you walk. The tour concludes with a small wine-tasting session at the vineyard, during which you can partake of some local wines and savoury pastries.

In rainy weather, the wine-tasting session will take place at the Vitra Campus. The walk will come to an end back at the starting point.

Duration: 3 hours
Cost: EUR 30 per person including a wine-tasting session with 3 wines.

Guided walk with wine-tasting

Sunday, 3 October, 3 pm - Tour and wine-tasting session with Sabine Theil 

This tour along Rehberger-Weg and through the surrounding vineyards, will provide you with fascinating facts on the milestones to be found along the hiking trail (the Rehberger-Wegmarken), the history of viticulture in the region, the local wine and winemaking profession, and the Schlipf area on Tüllinger Mountain. You will of course also be treated to wonderful views as you walk. With a bit of luck, you’ll be able to watch the winemakers as they harvest the wine.

The tour concludes with a small wine-tasting session at the vineyard, during which you can partake of some local wines and Bundt cake. After the wine-tasting session, Sabine Theil will accompany you to the Läublinpark bus stop, from which you can take the bus lines 6 or 16 back to Naturbad Riehen. In rainy weather, the wine-tasting session will take place at the Röschard vineyard.

Evening walk with night swimming

Friday 2 July, 8 pm - Evening tour with a night swimming session Register here

While walking into the night, we are getting to know the «24 Stops» on the Rehberger-Weg. We will discover Tobias Rehberger as an artist, the individual artworks and the respective scenic context. The tour will conclude with a visit to the natural swimming pool in Riehen, where you can enjoy the cooling waters and marvel at the unique beauty of the location by night.

Finishing point: Naturbad Riehen (CH)
Duration 2-hour walk followed by a night-time pool session
Cost: EUR 10 per person plus entrance fee to the Naturbad Riehen

This event must be booked in advance. 

Please wear sturdy shoes and bring swimwear. The tour will take place in all weather conditions. Because the tour will take you across national borders, we ask you to carry identification documents with you. The tour includes a shuttle journey back to the starting point at 11:00 pm.

 

Full-moon tour

Tuesday, 21 September, 7 pm - Full-moon tour and the Rehberger-Weg trail 

Hiking along the Rehberger-Weg trail under the light of a full moon is something quite special. Beginning at the Vitra Campus, this night-time tour will take you over Tüllinger Mountain and down to the natural swimming pool in Riehen. As you walk, Sabine Theil will provide you with interesting facts on the Rehberger-Wegmarken milestones that you pass. The natural landscape will seem quite different at night, as will the view of the border triangle with its fascinating illuminations. The tour will therefore touch on topics such as light and architecture at night and include stories about full moons and man’s quest to get to the moon.

Duration: 2 hours
Cost: EUR 10 per person

Security measures for visitors

° Covid-19 measures for guided tours

All participants are required to provide written/digital proof of a negative Covid 19 test (max. 24 hours old), proof of recovery (min. 28 days and max. 6 months old) or proof of complete vaccination (at least 14 days old).



IBA Basel Expo 2021

° 01 May - 06 June 2021, Dome Vitra Campus

As planned, the IBA Basel Expo will be open to the public from 1 May to 6 June 2021 on the Vitra Campus (Weil am Rhein / DE). This is subject to the regulations in force on site. As things stand, booking a binding time slot and registering in advance is compulsory. In addition, IBA Basel is now offering a digital programme.
